Operating Every Saturday from Saturday 23rd May until Saturday 26th September
From the seaside resort of Burnham-on-Sea a magnificent sweep of sand stretches north past the holiday villages of Berrow and Brean Sands to the National Trust headland of Brean Down. Berrow appears in the Domesday Book and has several listed buildings in the centre of the village. The medieval church, St Mary Magdalene, dates back to 1150 and has a lovely stained glass window featuring boats and other items of historical interest. Brean lies at the northernmost end of the seven miles of beaches. Brean Down, part of the great chain of the Mendip Hills, is one of the most dramatic landmarks of the Somerset coastline. From the top of the headland (National Trust) there are great views over the islands of Steep Holm and Flat Holm, Weston-super-Mare, the Bristol Channel and the Welsh coast.
